Garden Therapy is off to a great start! We have already completed two floral activities at the Golden Living Center.

Our September theme was titled Fragrances of Fall. The residents made their floral arrangements in small clay pots filled with mums, carnations, and greens topped off with a scarecrow pick. For Bewitching Hour, our October creation, we used black and orange Halloween tin buckets filled with mums and alstroemeria topped off with a black velvet spider. The new Activities Director, Lorraine Wilcox, helped to generate a lot of interest in our program this month. The October 12th session was attended by 15 residents. Our club members used left-over Halloween tins and flowers to make arrangements for residents that were unable to join us. Thanks to Jeanne Boutross for providing greens and for going along with me to buy the flowers. Thanks to Vernita Bryant, Maureen Adams, Kay Fay, Jeanne, and Joan Carlos for helping to make our BOOtiful Halloween arrangements. Also, thanks to Adrienne DuBois for creating a great poster used to “advertise” our activity.

Garden Therapy is held the second Wednesday of the month from 2:00-3:00 P.M. Up-coming dates are listed in the Yearbook. The Golden Living Center is on Rt. 3A near the entrance to the Greenbush train parking lot (there is a large blue sign on 3A). We would love to have club members join us for the fun!
